This magnificent villa, built in 1902, was originally known as Villa Beatrix, or La Tourelle, a name given to
it because of the pretty little tower overlooking Lake Genval from the corner of Avenue des Cormiers and
Avenue du Théâtre.

The entrepreneur who built Villa Beatrix for his niece was inspired by one of the castles of King Ludwig II
of Bavaria, Neuschwanstein.
It was acquired in 1989 by a couple who renovated it and renamed it `La Fée du Lac` (The Fairy of the
Lake) because, seen from the other side of the lake, the turret reminded them of a fairy`s wand. The front
façade bears the hallmark of this name, with a mosaic of a golden-haired fairy musician, topped by the
name and date of the villa. As the owner was Greek, the couple chose to repaint the woodwork in the blue
commonly used on the Greek islands.
The villa was sold in 2001 to a couple of architects who tastefully renovated it, redoing the woodwork and
giving it a touch of `Art Nouveau`.

This noble residence offers a wealth of private space on several levels, all beautifully finished with marble
floors or solid parquet, a fully-equipped kitchen, beautiful bathrooms and spacious terraces. The period
style of the ironwork has been retained, with the theme of Egyptian lotus flowers.
The private green garden, which follows the curves of the lake, is adorned with climbing hydrangeas,
numerous shrubs, roses and other fragrant flowers.

A unique residence, truly the jewel of the lake, which will be appreciated by lovers of beautiful historic
residences with a soul, in an idyllic holiday setting and temperate climate.
